MAX W. BIGEL

Max Walter Bigel, 84, of 1226 S. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning
at Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Bigel was born Feb. 5, 1885, at Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph and
Veronica Ziglinski Bigel. He was graduated from the First Ward School at
Manitowoc. After working for a time at Manitowoc Gas Co., he worked with
his father and brother at J. Bigel and Sons Book and Stationery Store,
Manitowoc until 1940. From 1940 to 1945 he worked at Manitwooc Shipbuilding
Inc., Manitowoc, after which he retired, He served on Manitowoc County Board
for 12 years. He was a former member of Manitowoc Elks Lodge and Eagles Club.
He is survived by his wife, a grandchild, a niece and a nephew. A daughter,
a sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday
until the hour of service.
