Mrs. Anita Boeckman, 88, of 915 Wilson St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, November 7, at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Saturday at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Rev. Arthur Wille will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Boeckman was born December 29, 1896, at Newton, daughter of the late Fred and Emma Schmitz Groelle. She attended schools in the Newton area. She married John Boeckman on January 12, 1918 at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1960. Mrs. Boeckman was employed at Manitowoc Wisconsin Bell for 15 years, retiring in 1965. MRs. Boeckman was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors and Silver Creek Homemakers.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, John Jr. and Marcella, Kenneth and Lucille, Robert and Delores, Donald and Diane, Richard and Ann, all of Manitowoc; six daughters and three sons-in-law, Mildred and Ludger Karman of Manitowoc, Mrs. Margaret Bratz of Cato, Mrs. Caroline Truttschel of Manitowoc, Dorothy and Lester Halverson of Valders, Mrs. Joanne Parsley of Kansas City, Kansas and Elda and Norman Fischer of Manitowoc; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Walter and Mildred Groelle and Reynold Groelle of Manitowoc; 49 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 8 pm this Friday and 11 am to the time of services at the church on Saturday.
