Victor R. Brandel, 53, of 1208 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he was a patient four days.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at
10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred
Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Brandel was born July 8, 1914, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Joseph
and Mrs. Mary Schreiner Brandel. Always a resident of Manitowoc County, he
lived 35 years at Manitowoc and married Elizabeth M. Morris June 3, 1935, at
Milwaukee. He worked for Northern Wisconsin Produce CO. 35 years and the past
three years had been employed by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. He was a member
of Holy Name Society of St. Boniface Church.
Survivors include the wife, a son, Thomas, of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs.
James (Merle) Surfus, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Philip (Mary Ann) Baranowski, of
Cooperstown; his mother of Manitowoc; six brothers, Charles, Leonard and Jack,
of Columbus, Ohio, and Ottmar, Robert and Herbert, of Manitowoc; seven sisters,
Sister Mary Hermengild of Ohio, Mrs. George Riederer, Mrs. Ray Mahloch, Mrs.
Andrew Budnar and Mrs. Reinhardt Ebert, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Bernard Augustine,
of Sheboygan and Mrs. Paul Steeber, of Maple Grove and 15 grandchildren. Two
brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where at 8 p.m. the
Rosary will be recited.
