Edwin R. Braunel, 81, a retired farmer of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died
Sunday afternoon at Abode Nursing Home, Sheboygan, following a
lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Myron Hoff officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Braunel was born Jan. 24, 1878, at Manitowoc Rapids, son of the
late Hiram and Pauline Fischer Braunel. He married the former Clara
Johnson Nov. 25, 1897, at Manitowoc. She died July 29, 1929. In 1932
he married Mrs. Fred Pierce of Waukegan, Ill. She died in 1954. Mr.
Braunel was once a member of the Manitowoc Rapids school board.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond of Chicago and Lenert and Arthur of
Manitowoc Rapids; six daughters, Mrs. August Frey of Waukesha, Mrs. Ewald
Sonnevik of Bethany, Okla., and Miss Luella, Mrs. Hans Gulseth, Mrs. Arthur
Jarosh and Mrs. Alfred Bast of Manitowoc; 17 grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
