From Der Nord Westen, 10 Dec. 1908:
Consumption took the life Saturday, after many months of illness,
of 29-year old Mrs. Frank Braunreiter, a resident of North 22nd
Street. Especially grievous is the fact that 2 of the deceased's
children were suffering from smallpox at the same time. It is of
the mildest strain but there is concern when it is overlaid with
sadness over their mother's death. Because they were under quarantine,
only a closed funeral could be held with just the immediate next of
kin permitted to attend.
[cause: tuberculosis]
There were TWO Anna Braunreiters -- Frank's first and second wives had the same given name. The first wife, Anna Podhola, m. 10 Oct 1905, died 5 Dec. 1908. Frank married his second wife, Anna Rous, on 6 Sep. 1911. She died in 1958. It was Anna Podhola Braunreiter who died in 1908, not Anna Rous Braunreiter.
