Milton J. Brice
Milton J. Brice, age 83, formerly of 1717 Revere Drive, Manitowoc, currently residing at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, for the past two-and-a-half years, died from Alzheimer's disease early Sunday morning, May 18, 2008, with his loving wife Lois at his side.
He was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Two Rivers, son of the late Edward and Mildred (Van Kylen) Brice. Milton was a graduate of Two Rivers High School, Class of 1944. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp., serving from June 1944 to September 1945. He served as a tailgunner in Mitchell B-25 bombers assigned to North Africa and Italy. Milt flew 26 missions and was awarded the Air Medal with three clusters. He proudly called himself a bombardier. On Aug. 24, 1946, he married the former Lois K. Burgett at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Milton was an industrial engineer at Kelvinator Commercial Products, retiring after 47 years. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi.
Survivors include his wife: Lois K. Brice, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and a son-in-law; two grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law and two sisters and two brothers-in-law (private). Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by an infant son: Tommy, a grandson: Samuel, and two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Louis and Ruth Brice; Harley and Leonis Brice: and Sally Brice.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, until 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Dan Felton officiating. Military rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post 659 immediately following the service at church. Cremation will occur at a later date and Milton will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Milton had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family, driving along country roads and playing golf. He was a familiar figure at Meadow Links Golf Course until his illness. Milton was a wonderful loving husband, a good father and grandfather who was always ready to help those in need. He will be dearly missed. The family greatly thanks St. Mary's Home and Hospice Advantage for their thoughtful and loving care.
