Mrs. Lillie Bruns, 84 of 1314 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. A Christian Science reader will conduct services and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Bruns, nee Lillie Rehbein, was born Nov. 23, 1884, in the Town of Newton,
daughter of the late Charles and Martha Buerstatte Rehbein. She was married
to Otto Bruns June 29, 1907, at Newton and they came to Manitowoc. Mr. and Mrs.
Bruns moved back to the farm at Newton from 1914 until 1920. Mr. Bruns preceded
her in death Feb. 23, 1920, and Mrs. Bruns moved to Manitowoc.
Mrs. Bruns was a hemstitcher and seamstress until illness caused her retirement
in 1968. She was the local secretary and treasurer of Equitable Reserve Assn.
since 1927.
Survivors include a son, Otto, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (William)
Bonin, of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Waak and Miss Hertha Rehbein of
Manitowoc; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two brothers, four
sisters, a son and a daughter preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday until the time of
services.
