Mrs. Louis Carstens, 69, of Rt. 1, Valders, died Tuesday morning at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness.
Funeral arrangements will be announced Wednesday by Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Carstens was born Olga Huebner Sept. 15, 1892, at Manitowoc, daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Anton Huebner. She was married to Louis Carstens April 13,
1914, at Manitowoc. The couple resided at Lena, Brillion, Potter and Seattle,
Wash., then returned to Wisconsin in 1949, settling on the Valders farm.
Survivors include her husband, three sons, Raymond on the home farm, Arthur of
Appleton and Anthony of Rt. 2, Reedsville; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Walum of
Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Robert Walske of Manitowoc; a brother, Edwin of Manitowoc
and six grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louis Carstens, 69, of Rt. 1, Valders, who died Tuesday,
will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. T. F. Uetzmann will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the State Street entrance of Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Thursday until 10:30 a.m. Friday when the casket will be
moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.

Miss Huebner Bride of L. Carstens at Wedding
A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated today when Louis Carstens, a well known town of Rapids man, claimed as his bride, Miss Olga Heubner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Heubner, Washington Street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Machmiller at 4 o'clock and the bridal couple was attended by Misses Lillian Meyer and Viola Groth and Harvey Carstens and Edward Heubner. A wedding dinner was served at the bride's home and after a honeymoon trip Mr. and Mrs. Carstens will take up their home at Rapids.
