Miss Fran A. Cavanaugh, of 528 N. 4th Street, Manitowoc, died Saturday evening,
January 30, 1988 at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc. Private family memorial services
will be Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Manitowoc. Rev. William Zimmer
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Miss Cavanaugh was born in Maple Grove, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Daniel C.
and Catherine F. Morrissey Cavanaugh. She attended St. Patrick School, Maple Grove
and was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. She continued her education
at Manitowoc County Normal and at Oshkosh State Teachers College, Oshkosh. She
then graduated from St. Norbert College, DePere with a degree in Education. Miss
Cavanaugh taught 8 years in Manitowoc County Schools and 35 years in the Green Bay
Public School System in Elementary Education. Miss Cavanaugh was a member of
Catholic Womens Club and Daughters of Isabella in Green Bay Circle. Miss Cavanaugh
was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the churches Altar Society.
Survivors include three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William Ted and Dorothy
Cavanaugh of Alamo, Texas, Daniel C. Cavanaugh of Manitowoc and Woodrow (Bub) and
Ruth Cavanaugh of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Irene C. Kruck of Manitowoc; a sister-
in-law, Mrs. Loretta Cavanaugh of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
There will be no visitation. Harrigan-Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted
the family with arrangements.
