ELIZABETH CUMBERLIDGE
DEATH OF MRS. CUMBERLIDGE, WAS LONG ILL
Mrs. Elizabeth Cumberlidge, wife of George Cumberlidge, died at the family
home at 811 North Ninth street, at midnight, the death coming as a release
from suffering from a long illness. Mrs. Cumberlidge was taken to St. Agnes
hospital at Fond du Lac March 5 and underwent an operation. She remained a
patient at the hospital for a month and then was returned to the home here.
She never rallied and although she made a brave fight, failed until death
came at midnight. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon from the home
with services at 2 o’clock at St. Paul M.E. church, North Seventh street,
the Rev. Paul Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen.
Mrs. Cumberlidge, nee Cross, was born in the town of Kossuth, this county,
February 4, 1864 and was past sixty-one years of age. She was married in
Kossuth thirty-one years ago to George Cumberlidge and the family came to
city to make its home and has since always resided here. Surviving are the
husband and one daughter, Mrs. Raymond J. Clark and a brother, George Cross,
all of this city. She was a member of the St. Paul M.E. Ladies Aid society
and of the local Rebekah lodge.
