Joseph Ertman, 74, of 1028 Menasha Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Assembly Church of
God, Manitowoc. The Rev. V.N. Hillestad will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ertman was born March 19, 1896, in Germany, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Anton Ertman. He came to the United States, settling at Rollins, Mo., and
then moving to Wisconsin in 1920. He married Mary Gordon in September, 1922,
at Manitowoc. They lived at Plymouth and farmed at Kingsbridge. The couple
moved to Manitowoc, where he had been employed by Cherney Construction Co.
prior to his retirement in 1965, he had been employed by Manitowoc
Engineering co. for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, a son, three daughters, four brothers, Stanley
and Narcy of Two Rivers, John of Missouri and Paul of Wyoming, two sisters,
Miss Ann of Manitowoc and Mrs. Robert Kronzer of Two Rivers; 10 grandchildren

Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 4 p.m.
Wednesday until noon Thursday and then at the church.
