Graveside services will be held at 10:15 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 at the
Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Larry McCann will officiate. Relatives and friends
may gather at the front gate of Evergreen Cemetery on N. 18th Street at 10 a.m.
for a procession to the gravesite.
The former Elsie Staudinger was born Sept. 16, 1913 in Antigo, Wis., daughter of
the late John and Mary Grall Staudinger. Elsie grew up in Whitelaw and graduated
from Manitowoc's Lincoln High School. On June 25, 1935, she was married to Paul V.
Fricke in Manitowoc; he preceded her in death on April 17, 1973. Elsie loved flower
gardening and was an accomplished seamstress.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Phi Nga (Terri) Fricke
of Falls Church, Va.; one daughter and two sons-in-law, Gloria and Gary Yealon of
Manitowoc, Hoyt Foster of Utopia, Texas; five grandchildren, Michael and Janie
Myers of Lubock, Texas, Mitchell and Julie Myers of Angola, Ind., Kristin and Edwin
Cardwell of New Port Richey, Fla, Robert and Cathy Fricke of Seminole, Fla, Derek
Fricke of Falls Church, Va.; 15 great-grandchildren and Elsie's special friend
Gordon Tess of Manitowoc. Two sisters, Dolores Waskow of Manitowoc, Dorothy Mandel
of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.
Elsie was preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnn Myers Foster; a son-in-law,
Jay Myers; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Kolos; two brothers, John Staudinger and
Reinhard Staudinger; three sisters, Carrie Kummer, Mayme Rodney, and Helen
Staudinger.
