Otis R. Grainger, 84, of 1632 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Friday at Memorial
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Chapel, Manitowoc.
The Rev. Vernon Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Grainger was born March 14, 1884, in Columbus Grove, Ohio, son of the late
Sherman and Margaret Slusser Grainger. He came to Manitowoc in 1907 and started
to work for Pere Marquette Railway as chief clerk and he retired in 1942. He had
worked for Baltimore and Ohio Railway prior to coming to Manitowoc. He married
Lillian Kurth May 17, 1911, at Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, O. Sherman and Kurth R. of Manitowoc; a
daughter, Mrs. Carter (Betty) Davidson of Chicago; two brothers, Glenn of Toledo,
Ohio, and Russell of Redlands, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. William Haiber, of Vinton,
Va., six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 3 until 9 p.m.
Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Monday and then at the chapel until 1 p.m.
