GUNNELL Gunnell, Elias (Skip) III, 59, a Manitowoc, WI resident, died Monday, September 30, 2002, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee. WI. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. Skip was born June 2, 1943, in Manitowoc, son of Marjorie Burger Gunnell and the late Elias Gunnell. On February 14, 1988, he married the former Elaine T. McAllister at Church by the Sea, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Skip started his career in boat building with The Burger Boat Co. in Manitowoc. After the sale of the family interest in the Burger Boat Co., he moved to Ft. Lauderdale where he managed Derecktor Shipyards and later became part owner and president of Derecktor-Gunnell. He and his family recently moved back to Manitowoc to rejoin the Burger Boat Co. as Technical Director-Project Management Director. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Gunnell, Manitowoc; three children, Taylor, Caroline and William; his mother, Marjorie Gunnell of Key Largo, FL; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Kristey Peck, Cathy Hicks, Marcie & Jerome Hunsaker; his mother-in-law, Lynn McAllister, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his father-in-law, J. Gordon McAllister, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; Drew McAllister, Nancy & Roy Dennis, Joan & Michael Clymer, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Elias Gunnell and a brother-in-law, Lee Wallace Peck. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 4125 N. 124, Unit #4, Brookfield, WI 53005 or The Wisconsin Maritime Museum, 75 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc, WI 54220. The PFEFFER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
