MRS. HANSEN DIES AGE 86
Dies At Home Of Daughter Here on Sunday
Mrs. Thomas C. Hansen, nee Henrietta Halverson, age 86, died Sunday noon, at
the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Johnson, 425 N. 7th street. Her death is
attributed to old age. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from
the home, Rev. Ristad officiating. Burial in Evergreen.
Mrs. Hansen was born Dec. 8, 1847 in Christiansand, Norway. In 1868 she married
Thomas Hansen and the couple came to the United States in 1883. They came
directly to Manitowoc and made their home at 849 N. 14th street, where Mr.
Hansen lived until two months ago, when she removed to the home of her daughter.
Mr. Hansen was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid
Society of that church. She was very active in church work and took an interest
in community affairs in general.
The deceased is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. A. Johnson, Mrs. Even
Tollefson and Mrs. Hans Hanson of Manitowoc and Mrs. C. H. Barnstein of Newton;
two sons, Dr. H. C. Hansen and Thomas C. Hansen of Chicago; 19 grandchildren and
7 great grandchildren.
