MEAD B. HANSEN (d. 1968)

Mead B. Hansen, 86, of 915 Dewey St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Manitowoc
County Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. Eagles Aerie No 706 of Manitowoc will be in charge, and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Hansen was born Feb. 9, 1882, at Manitowoc, son of the late Benjamin and
Theresia Groll Hansen. On Oct. 25, 1901, he married Azuba Underwood at
Manitowoc. He worked for the Manitowoc Building and Supply Co., and Manitowoc
Shipbuilding Inc., as a loftsman, retiring eight years ago. He was active in
trades union work, and at one time was president of the Building Trades Council.
He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 706 and Boilermakers Local 443. His wife
died in 1964.
Survivors include four sons, Mead F., Sereno, Russell and Norman of Manitowoc;
two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Catherine) Kinne of Frankfurt, Mich., and Mrs.
Arthur (Eleanor) Strupp of Manitowoc; two brothers, Ben Hansen and Richard
Groll of Manitowoc; 11 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. A son and two
brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home this Friday evening.
