Mrs. Ruth Hansen, 77, formerly of 1500 N. Third St., Manitowoc, died Sunday in Holy Family Extended Care Facility. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday in First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Bruce Hanstedt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Hansen, nee Ruth Schmiedicke, was born June 16, 1901 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Ernst and Minnie Brick Schmiedicke. She was educated in Manitowoc schools, graduating from Manitowoc High School. Oct. 21, 1929 she was married to Nels Marcus Hansen in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. Hansen was a member of First Lutheran Church and The Republican Women's Club of Manitowoc County.
Survivors include a son, Nels M. Hansen of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Della) Helgeson of Manitowoc and three grandchildren, Karen, Katherine and Constance of Manitowoc.
There will be no Monday evening visitation. Friends may call in the church from noon Tuesday until the time of service. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
