Betty Jane Hanson, age 81, of 2204 Division St., Manitowoc, died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, peacefully at her residence with her family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Betty was born on Aug. 18, 1929, in Manitowoc, son (sic) of the late Joseph and Mary (Kliment) Zmeskal. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. She was employed with the Aging Resouce Center as an outreach worker until her retirement in 2000. Betty enjoyed card playing, dancing and gaming.
(Survivors omitted for privacy.) Many special friends, nephews and nieces also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Mary Zmeskal; two brothers: Joseph Zmeskal and Clarence Jake Zmeskal; her special friend: Loren Klein.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A special thank you to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center med-surg and hospice departments for the compassionate care given to our mother during her illness.
