Mrs. Amelia(sic) Hanson, 63, wife of Capt. Louis A. Hanson, retired Ann Arbor
carferry master, died early today at the home, 410 Huron street. She has been
in failing health since suffering a stroke in April, 1938.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek and
Schlei funeral home, the Rev. Ernest Zoerb, of the First Lutheran church
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rindfleisch, was born in Germany
in 1875 and accompanied her parents to this country. The family located in
Sheboygan. In 1897 she was married to Capt. Louis A. Hanson and they came to
Manitowoc. Capt. Hanson was with the Ann Arbor company for many years until
retiring a short time ago.
Mrs. Hanson was a member of the First Lutheran church and the Royal Neighbors.
Survivors are the widower; three sons, Ludwig and Walton, city, Raymond of
Madison; two daughters, Ethel and Harriet, city; three brothers, Herman of
Larchmont, N.Y., Fred, Milwaukee, Henry, Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Paul
and Gwenn Hanson and Norma Hanson Rudie, all of this city.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Sunday evening until the hour
of the services.
