Mrs. William Hardrath, 84, of 1807 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday noon
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Sophie Kluenker was born Sept. 17, 1877, at Branschweig, Germany,
daughter of the late Frederick and Wilhelmina Sander Kluenker. She came to
the United States with her parents in 1887, settling with them in Manitowoc
County. She was married April 19, 1911, at Manitowoc to William Hardrath and
the couple settled at Owen, Clark County. He died in October of 1943, and a
year later Mr. Hardrath moved to Manitowoc. The past 3-1/2 years she had made
her home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rodewald.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Erwin Abelmann of Ionia, Wis., Mrs. Arnold
Hetland of Sparta, Mich., and Mrs. Clarence Rodewald of Manitowoc; a brother,
Charles Kluenker of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; a sister, Miss Minnie Kluenker of
Manitowoc and 11 grandchldren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Thursday until noon Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where
the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
