Milton H. Haupt, 64, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient since Wednesday.
Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. T. F. Uetzmann officiating. Burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Haupt, a native of Manitowoc County, was born in the Town of Newton,
Dec. 19, 1897, son of the late August and Bertha Vogt Haupt. He married Hattie
Baryenbruch at Newtonburg Sept. 19, 1925, and the couple established residence
in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids.
Mr. Haupt was a cheesemaker for 10 years and subsequently owned and operated
Haupt Tavern in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids for 26 years. He also owned and
operated H and H Window and Awning Corp. He was a member of Alverno Gun Club
and for years had sponsored bowling teams in a number of leagues.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. James Wolff of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; four
sons, Roger A. and Milton M. Jr., of Manitowoc, Wayne C. of Rt. 3, Manitowoc,
and Dale R. of Knoxville, Tenn.; four brothers, Sigfried, Erhardt and Hilbert
of Newton and Allen W. of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Krueger of
Newton and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until noon Tuesday when
the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until
the hour of service.
