ARTHUR HENRY HEINRICHS

Arthur H. Heinrichs, age 90, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center,
Manitowoc, died Monday evening, Aug. 14, 2006, at Shady Lane.
He was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Manitowoc, son of the late Peter and Clara (Lax)
Heinrichs. Art was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1934.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a sergeant
in Germany from 1945 to 1946. On Aug. 1, 1940, he married the former Ruth Miller
in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on July 12, 1988.
Art was employed at Lakeside Foods as a timekeeper for over 40 years until his
retirement in 1979. He was a former member of the Manitowoc Senior Center.
Survivors include a son: James Heinrichs, Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-
law: Sandra and Chuck Steiner, Plymouth, Minn.; two grandchildren: Jen Steiner
and her fiance, Richard Peske, Minneapolis, Minn.; Angela (Richard) Rubin,
Plymouth, Minn.; and a special friend: LaVerne Hansen, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at St. John's
United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Dr.
Rev. James Klein with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will
greet relatives and friends at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc,
from 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
