Former Cooperstown Store Keeper Dies At Home in City
Henry J. Heise, who for thirty-five years conducted a retail store
at Cooperstown, but who has been living a retired life here at 1232
South Thirteenth street, passed away yesterday, after a three week's
illness. The deceased was 74 years of age, having been born at
Milwaukee and resided for a time at Richland Center before locating
at Cooperstown where he conducted a store. He is survived by his wife,
who was Louise Gauger, one son, Henry A., three brothers, Albert,
August and Fred Heise of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Gustave Umnus
of this city and Mrs. F.C. Brockmann of St. Paul. Burial will take
place Thursday afternoon at 1:30 from the home on South Thirteenth
street and at two o'clock from the German Lutheran church, Rev.
Machmiller officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen.
