FREDERICKA HENDRIES

Mrs. Christina (sic) Hendries, __, died Tuesday afternoon at the home, 727 N.
10th St., Manitowoc. She had been in failing health several years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Theophil Uetzman officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Fredericka Ladwig was born in Germany April 10, 1868, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ladwig, and came to the United States with her parents
when six weeks old. The family settled in the Town of Two Rivers, and Miss Ladwig
was married to Christian Hendries Nov. 10, 1888. The couple settled at Two Rivers,
residing there three years before coming to Manitowoc. The husband, who died in
1937, was a carpenter foreman at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. Mrs. Hendries was
a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
She is survived by a son, Victor K. of Two Rivers; three daughters, Miss Alma
Hendries, Miss Clara Hendries and Mrs. Louise Weigle of Manitowoc; two grandchildren
and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 2 p.m. Thursday until
11 a.m. Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie
in state until the hour of service.
