Victor K. Hendries, 62, of 1712-18th St., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly late
Tuesday night at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after being stricken with a
heart attack while at his work at Manitowoc late in the afternoon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral
Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. M.J. Roehrdanz officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Hendries was born at Manitowoc May 12, 1899, a son of the late Christ and
Fredericka Ludwig Hendries. In his earlier years he worked on Great Lakes
Freighters. For a number of years until his death he was employed at the
Manitowoc Engineering Corp. as a journeyman machinist, and was a member of the
American Federation of Machinists.
Besides his wife, the former Martha Smith whom he married in Two Rivers in
January of 1952, he leaves two sons, Robert of Seattle, Wash., and Victor of
Minneapolis, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Gerroll of Two Rivers; three
sisters, the Misses Clara and Alma of Manitowoc and Mrs. Lousie Weigle of
Madison, and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
