Francis F. Henning, 68 of 534 S. 31st Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening,
October 26, 1988, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Ronald Reimer and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Henning was born October 21, 1920, at Janesville, Wisconsin, son of Mrs.
Monica Edwards Henning and the late Alfred Henning. He grew up and was educated
in Manitowoc. He was a 1938 graduate of Lincoln High School. Mr. Henning was
employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1983 as a
Supervisor. He married Mary Ann F. Gerbarz on August 15, 1942, at St. Paul
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary
this year. Mr. Henning was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the White Lake
Preservation Association. Francis enjoyed fishing, hunting, his card club and his
family. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army from October 25,
1944, to May 11, 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; his mother, Mrs. Monica C. Henning of
Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Christine Henning of Fond du
Lac; Terry and Cindie Henning of Cedarburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and
Al Zlatoholavek of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Lori Ann Zlatohlavek, Jon
Henning and Cindy Henning; a brother, Melvin Henning of Couderay, Wisconsin; a
sister, Mrs. Ione Langlois of Manitowoc; four sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Reinhold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, 4 p.m. to
8 p.m. Friday where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. by Deacon William Klein.
