JOSEPH F. JUNK
Joseph F. Junk, 92, a former Whitelaw resident, died Thursday afternoon, June 10,
at Extended Care Facility, Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and
10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard Heyman will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Junk was born Oct. 3, 1889, in the Town of Centerville, son of the late Henry
and Mathilda Rettele Junk. He married Anna Haarmann in 1912. Mr. Junk was a cheese
maker in his earlier years. He then operated a farm in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids,
retiring in 1963, and moving to the Village of Whitelaw. Mrs. Junk preceded him in
death June 11, 1980.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerome and Irene Junk, and Arnold
and Helen Junk of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Adeline and Robert
VanHaren, and Mildred and Clarence Kocourek of Manitowoc; three foster children,
Lloyd and Ruth Junk of Beloit, Earl and Janet Junk of Manitowoc, and Ethelyn and
Dale Bolle of Whitelaw; five daughters-in-law, Jan Junk of Wisconsin Rapids, Adeline
Junk of Sheboygan, Grace Junk of Clarks Mills, Emily Junk of Francis Creek, and
Sharon Schenck of Mishicot; a son-in-law, Lester Eslinger of Mishicot; a sister,
Rose VandeLoo of Sheboygan; a sister-in-law, Wanda Junk of Manitowoc; 42 grand-
children and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sons, Ralph,
Eugene, George, Ronald and Joseph; a daughter, Arlene Eslinger; three sisters, two
brothers and a grandson.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Sunday and Monday until the time
of services. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by Father Heyman.
