Wencil (Jim) Karbon, 76, retired Manitowoc County worker, died early
Saturday morning at his home in Francis Creek, following a stroke.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 am Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The
Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Born February 28, 1880 in the Town of Kossuth, he married the former
Eltie Knuell Nov. 20, 1918 and the couple lived on Rt. 1, Whitelaw. He
was employed by the county for 18 years, retiring two years ago.
Surviving him are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Herbert Sprang of
Francis Creek and Mrs. Gilbert Metz and Mrs. Florian Barbarossa of
Manitowoc; four brothers, Joseph of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, John of
Cooperstown, Adolph of Manitowoc and Charles of Kewaunee; two sisters,
Mrs. Mary Kronforst of Larrabee and Mrs. Adolph Cherney of Maribel and
eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Sunday where the Rosary
will be recited at 8 pm Sunday.
