Mr. John Kimmel, 82, of 7416 Homestead Road, Whitelaw, Wis., died Wednesday morning, Sept. 14, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Felton with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kimmel was born April 30, 1901, at Melnik, Wis., son of the late Frank and Anna Krause Kimmel. He farmed near Branch, Wis., most of his lifetime. He retired in 1969. Mr. Kimmel married Christine Dvorachek June 23, 1931, in Reedsville, Wis. He was a past member of Branch Firefighters, a current member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, The Churches Holy Name Society, and the Whitelaw Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Christine; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Celestine Kimmel of Branch; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Aneline and Edwin Spatchek of Brillion, Alice and Jerome Tisler of Whitelaw, and Helen and William Baroun of Taus, Wis.; a brother and a sister-in-law, Joseph and Lucille Kimmel of Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Anita Swetlik and Emily and Julius Doubek both of Manitowoc, 18 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mathilda Swetlik.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday evening.
