Walter H. Klusmeyer, 86, a resident of Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, March 30, at the home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Klusmeyer was born May 5, 1894, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Wilhelm and Bertha Strodthoff Klusmeyer. He grew up in the Town of Newton and attended St. John Evangelical Lutheran School at Newtonburg. As a young man he moved to Manitowoc, residing here since. He married Dorothea Hoefner Oct. 25, 1919. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death March 9, 1956. He had worked for the former Rahr Malting Company 40 years, retiring in 1960, and was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors incldue three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold E. and Oneitha Klusmeyer, Emmet E. and Loretta Klusmeyer and Elroy H. and Lola Klusmeyer of Manitowoc; five daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Elmer Vogt, Edith and Robert Luckow, Ethel and Kenneth Seefeldt and Loretta and Donald Kroening of Manitowoc and Marion and Leroy Neil of Johnson Creek; a brother, Edwin Klusmeyer of Manitowoc, 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday and then at the church from noon until the time of service. Memorials may be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
