Madaleen J. Koehler, age 83, formerly of 1417 Kuhl St., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, Jan. 31, 2005 at Harbor House, Manitowoc. Madaleen was born on Oct. 8, 1921 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Lila Schweitzer Moakler. On May 14, 1949, Madaleen married John A. Koehler at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in August 1998. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and a longtime volunteer of the American Red Cross. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: John Jr. (Jack) and Kathleen Koehler, Brookfield; two daughters and one son-in-law: Elizabeth (Liz) and Roger Quirk, Manitowoc; Kathleen Koehler, Plymouth; seven grandchildren: Ted, Becky, Matthew, Jason, Nick, Angie and Kelly; one brother and sister-in-law: Edward and Corinne Moakler, Oshkosh; one sister and brother-in-law: Doris and Daniel Kolodzeske, Duluth. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Madaleen was also preceded in death by her twin sister and brother-in-law: Nathaleen and William Mertz. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley. Cremation has taken place with burial of the cremated remains to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
