Alvin H. Kolwey, 43, died at his home, 1618 south 10th street, at 10:30 this
morning following a three weeks illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday
at 2 p.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, Rev. O.H. Menke
officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Kolwey, familiarly known as "Shorty," was born March 9, 1890 in Meeme. He
had lived in Manitowoc for the past twenty years. For the past fifteen years he
had been employed as a truck driver with the Spindler Ice and Coal company. On
August 25, 1911 he married Hulda Marschie who survives him.
Besides his widow the deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August
H. Kolwey, Valders, Rt. 2; two brothers, William of Valders and Clarence of
Milwaukee; and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph Pankratz and Mrs. William Wagner of
Manitowoc and Mrs. Earl O. Smith and Mrs. Ray Van Calligan of Sheboygan.
