WILLARD W. KORTE

Willard (Will) W. Korte, age 81, of 1345 N. 16th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Friday, April 11, 1997, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Dennis Broehm will officiate with
burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born August 26, 1915, in Cascade, Wis., son of the late Earl Sr. and Edna
Miller Korte. Will attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. After high school he
served with the United States Army overseas during World War II. After returning
from the service Will became employed with Imperial Eastman's for 40 years retiring
March 13, 1981. He married Dorothy I. Bull September 25, 1937, at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Dorothy preceded Will in death September 16,
1994. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Senior Choir of
the Church, served as the Church Treasurer along with other capacities on the Church
Council. Will was also active with the SPEBSQSA along with other barbershop quartets.
Will enjoyed walking many miles every day and loved to be outdoors.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William and Sari Korte, Newton; three
daughters and two sons-in-law, Carolyn and John Fraser, Hope, Mich., Jean Korte, St.
John's Antigua, West Indies, Judy and Tom Schmidt, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren;
one great-granddaughter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Delores Korte,
Manitowoc, Earl and Blance Korte, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law,
Mildred Timm, Manitowoc, Marion and Elroy Schrank, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, along
with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy,
September 16, 1994.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday (TONIGHT) at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and
Tuesday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of
service at 11 a.m.
Memorials would be appreciated to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. John's
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Antigua, West Indies.
