EDWARD A. KREIL

Edward A. Kreil, age 82, formerly of 3716 Schroeder Drive, Manitowoc, died Monday,
Aug. 6, 2001 at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church on
Friday, Aug. 10, 2001. The Rev. Robert Kujawski will officiate with burial at
Evergreen Cemetery. Graveside services will be accorded by the American Legion
Post #88.
Edward was born on Jan. 27, 1919, in Manitowoc, the son of the late Frank and Esther
Folletz Kreil. He attended Manitowoc Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High
School with the class of 1937. Edward served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941
until 1945. He served on the Joseph T. Dickman, an Army Transport Ship. Edward served
in North Africa, Normandy and the invasion of Okinawa. He was married to Bernice
Pleuss on March 17, 1943 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg.
Edward was a foreman at Invincible Office Furniture for many years until his
retirement in 1985. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Church and American
Legion Post #88.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law:
Jan E. and Joanne Kreil, Manitowoc; James F. and Julie Kreil, Two Rivers; Jeffrey L.
Kreil, Manitowoc, and special friend, Elaine Epstein; six grandchildren: Craig (Lorene)
Kreil, Oshkosh; Cory Kreil, Texas; Curt Kreil, Texas; Jodie Kreil, Manitowoc; Nick
Kreil, Manitowoc; Jamie Kriel, Manitowoc; two great-grandchildren: Madison and Evan
Kreil; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Grace Kreil, Manitowoc; and one
sister and brother-in-law: June and Earl Stock, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an
infant sister.
Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818
State St., Manitowoc, from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, and Friday at the
church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
