Joseph W. Krueger, age 83, of 626 N. 4th St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly
Thursday afternoon, April 29, 1999, at Milwaukee, Wis.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 1999, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Manitowoc, with Rev. William Zimmer officiating. Cremation
will have taken place with burial of his cremated remains at Evergreen
Cemetery.
He was born December 23, 1915, at Reedsville, Wis., son of the late Walter and
Mary Krizenesky Krueger. He grew up and was educated in Reedsville graduating
with the class of 1934 from Reedsville High School. He was married to Florence
Pankratz on September 6, 1941, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Joe
was the owner and operator of Krueger's Paint & Floor Covering store in Manitowoc
for over 30 years, retiring in 1980. He served with the United States Army
during World War II from 1943 to 1945, and he was a prisoner of war for eight
months. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Golden
"K" Kiwanis Club, Manitowoc, the Knights of Columbus Council #710 of Manitowoc,
the Manitowoc County Historical Society, the Capitol Civic Center, and the
Northeast Wisconsin Ex-prisoners of War.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; one son, Rich Krueger, Manitowoc and his
special friend, Cherie Bietzel; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vicki Simon,
Albuquerque, N.M., Cindy and Dick Herrmann, Waukesha, Wis.; four grandchildren,
Christel Simon, Albuquerque, N.M., Portia and her husband Jim Perdue, Albuquerque,
N.M., Christopher Herrmann, Milwaukee, Melissa and her husband Dan Cunderman,
Oregon; two great grandsons, Zane Purdue, Albuquerque, N.M., Caleb Cunderman,
Oregon; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Rosella Krueger, Manitowoc;
one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Skip Pankratz, Huntsville, Texas;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including, Donald and Margaret Pankratz,
Manitowoc, Robert and Dorothy Pankratz, Manitowoc, James and Lucy Pankratz,
Manitowoc, Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Miller, Manitowoc, Mrs. Leroy (Jeannette)
Pankratz, Manitowoc, Mrs. Jack (Mitzi) Pankratz, Minnesota, James Beecher,
Chicago, Ill., Harriet Krueger, Billion(sic), Wis., also surviving are nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one son,
Jim; his parents; one brother, Hank Krueger, one sister, Rosemary Beecher.
Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 9 a.m.
until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the American Heart
Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the donor's choice.
