RAY L. KRYSAN

Raymond L. Krysan, 61 (photo), landscaper and hunting enthusiast, died early
Friday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
He resided at 715 South 23rd St., Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Clement Kern
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Born Jan. 22, 1894, at Festina, Iowa, Mr. Krysan came to Manitowoc in 1919 where
he married the former Emily Trochlell in 1926. Shortly afterward he started the
Krysan Landscape Service which is now operated by a son, William.
For 35 years, he was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railroad, recently
as a locomotive..(line unreadable)..War I he served 18 months with the Navy,
enlisting in 1918.
Mr. Krysan was an avid hunter, tramping fields and woods in Manitowoc County in
quest of game for almost 35 years. In 1947 he went to Canada where he hunted big
game in the British Columbia province, realizing a dream of several decades.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Elroy Pick of Newton and Mrs.
Donald Swoboda of Manitowoc; two sons, Robert of New Orleans and William of
Manitowoc; two brothers, Alphonse of Spring Grove, Iowa, and Frank of Cresco,
Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Christine Gerelman of Colmar, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm. Sunday where the Rosary will be
recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.
