August Ladwig, 65, former resident of this city, died Saturday evening in the
Milwaukee County hospital, Milwaukee, where he has been a patient. He suffered
a stroke some time ago.
The body will be brought to this city Tuesday afternoon in charge of Edward L.
Kohls funeral director. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.,
from the home and at two o’clock from the Immanuel Lutheran church, the Rev.
K. A. Hoessel, Milwaukee, officiating.
Mr. Ladwig was born in this city in 1873. In early life he took up the pea
canning business and was employed by the old Landreth plant in this city many
years ago. He left here 21 years ago to locate at Watertown, Wis., where he
became field superintendent for the Watertown Canning company. When taken ill
he moved to Milwaukee.
He married Miss Anna Kohls in this city in 1899.
Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Richard Mueller, Washington, D.C.,
and Mrs. Leonard Schnitger, Milwaukee; two sons, Harold, Watertown, and Edwin,
Milwaukee; brother, Henry, city; sister, Mrs. Christ Hendries, city.
The body may be viewed at the Leschke funeral home after Tuesday afternoon.
