Mrs. Joseph S. Lakatos, 66, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, the Rev.
E. A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Lakatos was born Clara Stradal on Sept. 2, 1895, in the Town of Kossuth,
daughter of the late Peter and Katherine Dufek Stardal. Oct. 28, 1919, she was
married to Joseph Lakatos at Francis Creek.
The couple resided at Manitowoc for about one year, then took over operation of
a cheese factory on the River Road until 36 years ago, moving onto the present
farm home.
She was a member of Christian Mothers Society of Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph F. and Melvin W. of Manitowoc; three daughters,
Mrs. Ted Blashka of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, Mrs. Daniel Reidy of West Allis and Mrs.
LeRoy Zipperer of Whitelaw; two brothers, Louis and Florian of Manitowoc and 14
grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in October, 1959.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the Christian
Mothers and parish members will recite the Rosary at 8:30 p.m.
