Mrs. Joseph (Alma M.) Langenkamp, 98, of Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, formerly of
928 Lincoln Blvd., Manitowoc, died Monday in Park Lawn Home.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Phipps Memorial Chapel of the
First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John M. Deason will officiate and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Langenkamp, nee Alma Halberg, was born March 31, 1881, in Mishicot, daughter
of the late Jens and Augusta Schmidt Halberg. She grew up and was educated in
Mishicot schools. Mrs. Langenkamp taught grade school for a few years in Manitowoc
County, later moving to Manitowoc where she helped her husband in his piano tuning
business. She was married to Joseph P. Langenkamp June 26, 1907, in Tisch Mills.
He preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1976. She was a member of First Presbyterian
Church, a deacon of the church, a Sunday school teacher, and was very active in the
Lois Society of the church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gurth and Margaret of Waukesha,
Gordon and Elizabeth of Fish Creek; a sister, Mrs. Amanda Zoerb of Two Rivers; five
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by two sisters.
Friends may call in Phipps Memorial Chapel from 11 a.m. until the time of services,
Thursday. There will be no visitation Wednesday in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. Memorials may be made to the church.
