Frank Langer, Sr., 81, retired Kewaunee county farmer, who has resided in this
city for the past 17 years, died about 12:30 this afternoon at the home, 1118
North 12th street, following a lingering illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced Tuesday. The body may
be viewed at the Pfeffer funeral home here from 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Born in 1866 on his parents’ farm in Kewaunee county, Mr. Langer later operated
his own farm in the town of Carlton until his retirement in 1930 when he and his
wife came here to make their home.
He married the former Josephine Chermak 54 years ago. The couple celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary in 1943.
Surviving are the wife; five sons, Raymond of this city, Frank Jr., and Edward
of Two Rivers, Joseph of Tucson Ariz., and William on the home farm in Kewaunee
county; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Novy of this city and Mrs. Charles Bouril of
Tucson; one brother, Joseph, of Kewaunee; a sister, Mrs. Michael Gallenberger,
of this city; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9:30
at Holy Innocents church with the Rev. E.A. Radey officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 10 a.m.
Wednesday where the rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock that evening.
