WILLIAM J. LAWRENCE

William J. Lawrence, 85, of 1308 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday
evening at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Lawrence was born Oct. 18, 1887, at Manitowoc, son of the late Lewis
and Mary Allen Lawrence. He attended Manitowoc schools. He married Rose A.
Benzinger Apr. 7, 1915, at Manitowoc. He was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co.
for 45 years, retiring in 1956 as foreman of the small press department. He
was a member of Mirro Retirement Club and was a 55-year member of the Odd
Fellows Lodge, No. 55, of Manitowoc, serving in various offices. At the time
of his death he was financial secretary of the lodge. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter (Survivors name omitted for privacy.),
two sisters, Mrs. Ada Kolanshek, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Verne McNamara, of
Milwaukee; a granddaughter, two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday
until the time of service.
