Joseph A. Lensmire, 80, of 1236 Arlington Ave., Manitowoc, died Monday at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at
11 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Lensmire was born April 21, 1893, in the Town of Franklin, son of the late
Matt and Katherine Tienor Lensmire. He married Rose Oswald Aug. 29, 1921, at
St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. They owned and operated the Pine River
Cheese Factory from 1926 to 1953, when they retired and moved to Manitowoc. Mr.
Lensmire was a veteran of World War I, serving overseas in France and was a
member of St. Vincent DePaul Society. His wife preceded him in death April 3,
1965.
Survivors include a son, Howard, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence
(Lyndoris) Bray, of Sheboygan; four brothers, John of Marathon City, Don, of
Rt. 1, Whitelaw, Richard, of Luxemburg and Quirin, of Manitowoc; two sisters,
Mrs. George Kohlbeck, of Cato and Mrs. Marie Kadow, of Reedsville and ten
grandchildren. Two brothers and a grandson preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 o’clock this Wednesday
afternoon where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 o’clock.
