Herbert Lettenberger, 58, of 1515 S. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Monday afternoon
at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a three months illness.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Henry Letz will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born March 12, 1897, at St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
John Lettenberger, and in 1916 his parents moved to Manitowoc to take over the
Glenn Inn. He was a veteran of World War 1.
On June 15, 1922, he married Miss Erma Bieberitz. Until taken ill he was
employed at the Aluminum Goods Mfg Co. He was a member of the Drews-Bleser post
of the American Legion and the Manitowoc aerie of Eagles.
Surviving are his wife; daughter of Nyack, N. Y.; three brothers, Herman of
Kiel, Norbert, his twin brother, and Alphonse of Manitowoc; sister, Mrs. Edward
Auermiller of Manitowoc.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday were the
rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
