ANNA BARTA LEWIS
Mrs. Samuel Lewis, 65, died Monday noon at Davenport, Iowa, after being
taken ill Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mittnacht-Kolath
funeral home, the Rev. Franklin C. St. Clair of the Episcopal church
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body may be viewed
at the funeral home from Thursday morning until the time of services in
the afternoon.
Mrs. Lewis, nee Anna Barta, was born in Manitowoc in 1882. After her
marriage in Lodi in 1913 to Samuel Lewis, the couple lived in Oak Park,
Ill., and Madison. Mr. Lewis died in 1932 and Mrs. Lewis had been living
with her daughter, Mrs. Howard J. Mather of Davenport.
Survivors are the daughter, Mrs. Mather; son Samuel of Ann Arbor, Mich.;
brother Emil Barta of Manitowoc; sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kaiser Sr., and Mrs.
George M. Fechter of Manitowoc and Mrs. Henry R. Simons of Lodi, and two
grandchildren.
