FLORENCE LEWIS

Mrs. Carl O. Lewis, nee Florence Adams, 51, of 431 South 30th street, Manitowoc,
died late Thursday afternoon at Holy Family hospital following a short illness.
Mrs. Lewis was born in 1900 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Adams. She studied nursing at Holy Family hospital and was graduated as
a registered nurse. In 1929 she was married to Mr. Lewis at Sheboygan and the
couple lived one and one half years at Kohler, Wis., before returning to
Manitowoc. Mrs. Lewis was a member of St. Margaret's guild and the choir of St.
James Episcopal church, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. James Episcopal church,
Manitowoc, Rev. F. C. St. Clair officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Survivors are her husband; daughter, Mrs. F. C. Hinman of Harrisburg, Ill.; son,
David at home; two sisters, Mrs. William C. Boeder and Mrs. Edward Dunning, both
of Manitowoc; two brothers, Thomas Adams of St. Pierce, Fla., and Samuel Adams of
Manitowoc; two grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, Manitowoc, from Sunday
noon until 9 a.m. Monday when the casket will be moved to the church to lie in
state until the time of services.
