DEATH CLAIMS EUG. MCCARTHY
Well Known West Side Man Succumbs to Illness of Two Years
Death came at an early hour this morning to release Eugene McCarthy, a well
known West side resident, from sufferings which for two years had embittered
his life, Mr. McCarthy's death occurring at the family home on Twentieth
street.
Mr. McCarthy with his family removed to this city from Nebraska eight years
ago and the family has since resided in the city. Two years ago the husband
and father was attacked by an illness which, with no hope of recovery, he had
borne with patience and fortitude and his death was a welcome relief. A widow
and five children survive, the children being Matthew, George, Peter of this
city, Joseph and Edward of So. Dakota. Mr. McCarthy passed much of his life
in Nebraska where he was engaged in farming but eight years ago decided to
come to Wisconsin and located here. He was known to a large circle of friends
by whom he was held in esteem and his death will occasion regret. Mr. McCarthy
was 54 years of age. The funeral will be held from Sacred Heart Catholic church
Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
