OTTO MITTELSTAEDT

Otto Mittelstadt (sic), 89, formerly of 302 Cleveland Ave., Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon in Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc.
Private family Masonic services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday in Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Kenneth Hendrick, Past Worshipful Master, of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65, will conduct the services, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Mittelstadt was born Oct. 29, 1889, in Berlin, Germany. He immigrated to Wisconsin as a young lad with his parents, settling in Milwaukee, where he attended school and graduated from Milwaukee Business College. He married Anna Schmidt June 16, 1914, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 1972. Mr. Mittelstadt worked in Milwaukee for standard Separator Company as a purchasing agent. He came to Manitowoc to reside in 1917, where he started employment with Mirro Aluminum Co. in the advertising department and later in the retail sales division at which time he organized the retail sales force that was to launch the newly developed Mirro Line. He retired in 1958 as sales manager. To all of his friends he was known as Mr. Mirro. Mr. Mittelstadt was an honorary member of the National Association of Metal Cookware Manufacturers, a member of First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, a past president of Lakeside Country Club, now known as the Branch River Country Club, and a life member of the Manitowoc Elks Lodge, No. 687, and the Manitowoc Masonic Lodge, No. 65, F. & A.M.
Survivors include a son, Robert of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gertrude and Fred Borchardt of Manitowoc, and Alice and John Swartz of Irving, Texas; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
There will be no visitation this Thursday evening in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
