Leonard A. Schrank, 78, of 7092 Hartlaub Lake Road, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 24, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bruce Bitter will officiate with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery Manitowoc.
Mr. Schrank was born April 6, 1917, in the Town of Newton, son of the late Gustave and Anna Lindemann Schrank. He graduated from First German Evangelical Lutheran School.
He was married to the former Esther Gass Sept. 23, 1939, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. The couple farmed in the Town of Newton from 1939-1958. Mr. Schrank retired in 1981 from the Mirro Corporation, where he had worked for 31 years.
He is a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and past member of the Men's Choir. Leonard was an avid deer hunter and loved to deer hunt at his cabin at Dunbar, Wis.
Survivors include his wife, Esther, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Joyce Schrank, Manitowoc; Wayne and Kathy Schrank, Manitowoc; three daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Roger Busse, Manitowoc; carol and Daniel Ruh, Manitowoc; Karlene and James Brunmeier, Newton; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Fern Schrank, Manitowoc and Erna Schrank, Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Erhardt and one sister, Erna Brick.
Family and friends may call at the Reinbold and Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5 -8 p.m., Friday, and at the church, Saturday from 1 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for First German Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
