DEATH CLAIMS MRS. STAUDT AT OCONOMOWOC
End Came Last Night and Body to be Sent Here For Burial
Mrs. Emma Staudt, widow of the late John Staudt, died at the Waldheim
sanitorium at Oconomowoc last night, messages conveying the news to the
family here. The body will be brought to this city today for burial and
the funeral will be held tomorrow or Monday.
Mrs. Staudt, who had been seriously ill for several months, was taken to
Oconomowoc two weeks ago, but there was little hope that she would survive.
Deceased, who was formerly Emma Bibinger, was born on Sept. 8, 1857, in
Washington county, and came here as a girl. She was twice married, the late
Albert Haukohl being her first husband and later she married Mr. Staudt. Mr.
Staudt is survived by five children, Lester at Camp Lewis, John of this city,
Elmer in the aviation corps at Mt. Clemens, Mrs. James Spalisbury of Sturgeon
Bay and Walter of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Staudt was well and favorably known. Following the death of her husband,
Mr. Staudt, she continued the management of the Staudt hotel on Jay street
until forced by ill health to retire.
