MARIT TOLLEFSON

…Mrs. Tollefson, Resident Here Since ’54, Ill but One Week
MRS. HANSON DEAD AT AGE OF 92 YEARS
…Mrs. Tollefson—
Mrs. Marit Tollefson who came here from Norway as a girl in 1854 and who had
been a continuous resident of the county ever since, died Sunday night of
Bright’s disease from which she had been a sufferer for some time. Mrs.
Tollefson had been seriously ill only since last Wednesday when her vitality
sapped by the disease, she was forced to yield to weakness and her decline was
rapid, until death came at 8:30 Sunday night.
Mrs. Tollefson was one of the well known pioneer residents of the city. Coming
here in ’54, she was married a year later to Iver Tollefson who preceded her in
death six years ago.
The couple were married in what was known as the little log church, now the
Jerpen church, Rev. J. A. Otteson officiating, and celebrated their golden
wedding a short time before Mr. Tollefson’s death.
Seven children survive Mrs. Tollefson, being Even, Wallie, Edward T. and Miss
Matine, this city. Mrs. Capt. Jacobson, Chicago, Mrs. J.G.S. Kelly of Royalton,
Wis., and Mrs. J.G. Danforth of Sixous Falls, S.D.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
